CONSTITUTION: An exhaust gas processor comprises an exhaust gas treating part, a holding seal member(10), a housing. Inorganic fiber sheet members are rolled in an outer surface of the exhaust gas treating part and with 2 layers at least and the holding seal member is formed. The housing maintains the rolled exhaust gas treating part. While the seat member of the holding seal member is displaced at pre-determined distance in an axial direction and the exhaust gas treating part are rolled. When the seat member inserted into the housing, an end surface of a seat member is deformed.

    • A sheet member, an apparatus for treating exhaust gas, and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to improve the holding ability onto an exhaust gas treating body while securing necessary strength at the winding time of a holding sealer. A sheet member(24) includes inorganic fibers, wherein the sheet member has a plurality of inter-woven points formed on at least one of a front surface and a rear surface thereof by a needling process. A density of the inter-woven points is in a range from 0.5 points/cm^2 to 20 points/cm^2. The inter-woven points are formed in a row pattern distributed throughout the whole area of at least one of the front surface and the rear surface of the sheet member.

    • A sheet member which is excellent in assembly performance enabling the sheet member to be easily mounted on a predetermined position without surface lubricants, and an exhaust gas purifying device comprising the sheet member are provided. The sheet member is formed by needling a laminated sheet formed of the inorganic fibers. The sheet member contains a binder. The inorganic fibers have an average diameter of 6 mum or more. The inorganic fibers are a mixture of alumina and silica.
