    • PURPOSE: A fibrous cellulosic material is provided to be included as a gap material in a propelling body composition used in an in flator stored in a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: An in flator (20) includes an extended propelling body(28), and the propelling body generates a combustion product including inflated gas used to inflate an air bag since the propelling body is burned when it ignites. In addition, when the porous generation material is mixed with other materials, the porosity of the propelling body as a result is in a range of 15% of volume by supplying the porous propelling composition.

    • PURPOSE: An in flator equipping a multiple initiator is provided to selectively control expanding gas amount injected into an air bag or an expanded good depending on impact to a transporting device. CONSTITUTION: A control signal is generated when small impact of a car collis ion is detected and is fed to the conductive pin of an initiator(26). The initiator burns a booster material(92) igniting a first propellant(38) as well as makes the opening of a sealing disk(70). Gas from the first propellant is outlet through holes(46) formed on an exit member(42) in a spinning direction. Continuously, the expanding gas is outlet from an in flator housing(14) through the opening of the sealing member and then passed through apertures and an exit hole(58) of a diffuser(54). The expanding gas fills an air bag or other expandable goods connected to operate the in flator.
