摘要： PURPOSE: A contact switching apparatus and an electromagnetic relay thereof are provided to extinguish an arc with a simple and cheap configuration without doing harm to a spring property of a dynamic contact piece. CONSTITUTION: A fixing contact piece(51) has a fixing contact point(57), and a driving contact piece(52) has a driving contact point(62) possibly separated from a connection with the fixing contact point. The fixing contact piece has a first fixing unit which is fixed in a base(1) and a first main body unit which includes the fixing contact point by being protruded from the base. The driving contact piece has a second fixing unit which is fixed in the base and a second main body unit which includes the driving contact point by being protruded from the base. An extension unit(59b) is formed in an opposite side of one of the first and second fixing units by putting one of the fixing contact point and the driving contact point in a gap.
