    • A holding furnace for vertical semi-continuous casting that can improve quality of copper alloy by supplying the molten metal in an inert gas atmosphere such that molten metal supplied from the holding furnace to molds through a tundish is not exposed to the air and automatically checking and controlling an amount of the molten metal supplied to the molds through the tundish is provided. A holding furnace for vertical semi-continuous casting comprises: a crucible(110) into which molten metal supplied from a melting furnace is supplied so that the molten metal is stored in the crucible; a tundish(120) for receiving molten metal from the crucible and distributing the molten metal into respective molds(M); a thermal insulating member(130) for covering the crucible and the tundish such that an empty space(S) is formed between the crucible and the tundish; a resistance heating type heater(140) installed in the space formed by the thermal insulating member to generate heat using electricity applied to the resistance heating type heater; a gas supply part(150) for injecting an inert or reductive gas into the space formed by the thermal insulating member; a first molten metal supply part(160) connected from the crucible to the tundish and operated by a first sensing part for sensing a molten metal amount of the tundish to maintain the molten metal amount of the tundish in a predetermined range; and a second molten metal supply part which is installed on a lower end of the tundish to open or close injection holes(121) for injecting molten metal into the molds and is operated by a second sensing part for sensing a molten metal amount of the molds.

    • A copper-clad aluminum conductor manufacturing method is provided to substitute a copper-clad aluminum conductor for a copper booth bar and a copper wire and to reduce the manufacturing cost by using aluminum cheaper than copper. The method for manufacturing a copper-clad aluminum conductor joined densely comprises the steps of: cleaning the surface of a copper sheet, and washing the surface of an aluminum rod with sodium hydroxide solution and then treating the surface of the aluminum rod with zincate; disposing the aluminum rod on the copper sheet, wrapping the aluminum rod with the copper sheet in front of a die, connecting both ends of the copper sheet by welding, and then closely adhering the copper and aluminum to each other by passing the aluminum rod wrapped with the copper sheet, through the die; making a joined surface compact by diffusing and joining a film layer formed on the surface of the aluminum, toward the east interface by thermally treating the drawn copper and aluminum; and cold-drawing the copper and aluminum in the target size.
