The focusing electrode and the anode form the common rim at a mutual opposite surface of the focusing electrode. A horizontal direction length of a single rim of the anode is larger than a horizontal direction length of a single rim of the focusing electrode. CONSTITUTION: An electron gun for cathode ray tube includes a triode portion, a prefocus lens portion, and a main lens portion. The triode portion is formed with a plurality of cathodes for emitting electron beams, a control electrode for controlling the electron beams, and an accelerating electrode for accelerating the electron beams. The prefocus lens portion is formed with two or more electrodes to focus the electron beams. The main lens portion is formed with a focusing electrode and a plurality of anode electrodes. Each inner electrode is buried into the inside of the focusing electrode and the anode electrodes. Each inner electrode has three electron passing holes. Each center holes of the inner electrodes has a rectangular shape. Side electrode beam passing holes of the inner electrodes are circular shapes or arc shapes. In a focusing inner electrode(8-1) of the inner electrodes, an arc(Ri) of the inside of the side electron beam passing hole is less than an arc(Ro) of the outside of the side electron beam passing hole. In an anode inner electrode(9-1) of the inner electrodes, the arc(Ri) of the inside of the side electron beam passing hole is more than the arc(Ro) of the outside of the side electron beam passing hole.
