摘要： The present invention relates to a laundry machine and, more specifically, to a laundry machine which can be used by generating steam and to a method for controlling the same. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a method for controlling a laundry machine, which performs a refreshing course for smoothing or alleviating creases on a laundry fabric by supplying steam to the laundry fabric, comprises a course selecting step of selecting one of a plurality of laundry courses; a steam supplying step of supplying washing water from an external water supplying source into a tub to the height of a steam generating level without passing through the inside of a washing part if the refreshing course is selected; a steaming step of driving a washing heater equipped at the lower part of the tub to heat the washing water and generating steam from the washing water at the steam generating level; and a refreshing step of refreshing the washing fabric by operating a tumbling section and spinning (filtration) section in an alternate manner after the steaming step.
