    • PURPOSE: A method for restoring a symbol in a time division multiplex system is provided to lengthen the life of a battery by making use of an average symbol period calculated from a preamble section in a data section, and by restoring a symbol without the need for performing a sampling of the symbol. CONSTITUTION: An analog waveform is converted into a digital waveform through a low frequency filter(S100). A transit time detected from a sampling of a symbol interval is detected for restoring the digital waveform into a symbol value(S101). It is judged whether a symbol restoration section is an end of a preamble section(S102). The sampling of the symbol restoration section is performed(S200). A standard time mean value of the symbol interval is estimated using a standard time value and a next standard time value stored in a memory(S201). It is judged whether the transit time is generated below the standard time mean value(S202). A transit time is estimated till a transit time generated from the distortion of a waveform is adjacent to the standard time value(S300). A digital waveform at a transit time adjacent to the standard mean value is extracted(S301). An error is estimated(S302). A standard time of the symbol is updated according to the error(S303). A mean value is estimated using the stored transit time and the next time(S304). The mean value of the symbol interval is estimated using the transit time mean value(S305). The transit time of the next symbol restoration section is estimated(S306).
