    • PURPOSE: A polyethylene micro porous membrane is provided to improve thermal safety of cell and long-run performance stability as a strength in a high temperature is outstanding while having a high permeability and thermal safety is exceptional at a high temperature. CONSTITUTION: A polyethylene micro porous membrane comprises (a) a production step which produces a single thermodynamic phase in a compressor melting, mulling, and extruding a mixture, which contains 20-50 weight% of polyethylene and 50-80 weight% of diluents which has a property of being separated by liquid-liquid phase separation at 160-280 degreeC, at a temperature over the liquid-liquid separation temperature; (b) a formation step which forms in a sheet shape making a melted product in a single phase to progress a phase separation; (c) an elongation step which draws each transverse and longitudinal stretching ratio to be over 5 times using a simultaneous biaxial mechanical stretching method or a successive biaxial mechanical stretching method; (d) an execution step which performs 15-30% of contraction when the diluents are extracted from a stretched film; (e) a heat setting step which is executed at a temperature of a heat setting tenter that 30-50% of film is melted to remove a residual stress of the dried film and which fixes the film finally contracting to be 1.1 times in size after stretching to be 1.2 times when a width of film inserted into a heat setting tenter is 1.

A polyolefin-based composite microporous membrane has at least one polymer coating layer selected from one surface, both surfaces or membrane inside of a polyolefin microporous membrane, wherein the polymer coating layer is coated along the surface shape of the polyolefin microporous membrane so as to be maintained with the opened state of the pore structure of the polyolefin microporous membrane, the permeability is 1.5x10^-5 Darcy or more, the melt fracture temperature is 160°C or more, the shrinkage of the traverse direction/longitudinal direction is 40 % or less at 150 °C for 60 minutes, and the thickness of the polymer coating layer is 0.5 micrometers or less at the each side.

    • The present invention relates to a microporous organic and inorganic composite coated layer which is formed by concurrently including thermally stable resins and inorganic particles on one or more surfaces of microporous polyethylene film. The microporous polyethylene composite film concurrently possesses enough transmittancy and heat resistance by having 300 sec or less of the Gurley for total composite films including the coated layer, 0-3% of the shrinkage rate at 150°C for one hour in all horizontal and vertical directions, 3% or less of the TMA maximum shrinkage rate, and 145-200°C of the TMA meltdown temperature. The microporous polyethylene composite film formed by the coated layer concurrently has high temperature stability and enhanced transmittancy so that reliability and efficiency of batteries can be obtained at the same time and a battery separator correspond to large output and high capacity of batteries can be provided based on the above characteristics.
