    • A breakwater with an extended wave dissipating range for overflow absorption is provided to prevent waves from overflow the breakwater by constructing an overtopping absorbing wall at an upper hollow block. A breakwater with an extended wave dissipating range for overflow absorption comprises a riprap mound(10), a foundation perforated block(20), an upper hollow block(30), first wave dissipating blocks(B), and second wave dissipating blocks(Ba). The riprap mound is constructed under the sea and has an inland sea side covered with covering blocks(11) and an open sea side having a small stepped part(12). The foundation perforated block is constructed on the small stepped part of the riprap mound. The upper hollow block is constructed on the riprap mound. The first wave dissipating blocks are accumulated between the upper hollow block and the foundation perforated block. The second wave dissipating blocks covers the bottom slope of the riprap mound. An overtopping absorbing wall(31) in a semicircular shape is built on the rear surface of the upper hollow block. Ripraps(32) are stacked upto a predetermined height and a top concrete(33) is poured over the ripraps in the upper hollow block.
