    • PURPOSE: A signal processing circuit is provided to accomplish a balance between sensitivity of a distortion and abundant sound by switching input and output characteristics in a first input range according to a type of an input signal. CONSTITUTION: A pulse-shaping section(1A) outputs a first signal(V1) by molding a signal waveform of an input signal(Vin) according to level. The pulse-shaping section comprises an operational amplifier(OP), input resistance(R1), and a feedback resistor group. A non-clip section(2) outputs an output signal(Vout) by amplifying the first signal. The non-clip section comprises a variable gain section(20) and a control circuit(23). The variable gain section comprises an amplitude control circuit(21) and an amplifier circuit(22).

An electro-acoustic transducer includes a package, a microphone(10), an amplifier circuit(20), and a control circuit(22). The microphone is installed in one package, and converts a sound pressure into an electric signal. The amplifier circuit is installed in one package, controls an amplification rate, and amplifies an output signal of the microphone. The control circuit is installed at one package, monitors a level of an output signal of the amplifier circuit, and controls an amplification rate of the amplifier circuit so that the output signal is not clipped.

    • An amplifier is provided to control clipping by grasping an excessive input quantitatively by comparing a predetermined reference potential of a comparator with a potential difference between a positive phase input terminal and an inverse phase input terminal. An amplifier(10) includes a variable gain unit, a negative feedback amplification unit(20), and a controller. The variable gain unit regulates the amplitude of the input signal. The variable gain unit outputs the output signal. The negative feedback amplification unit includes an operational amplifier(21) for amplifying the output signal of the variable gain unit. The controller compares the electric potential difference between the positive phase input terminal and the negative phase input terminal of the operational amplifier with the reference potential. The controller controls the variable gain unit by detecting the presence of the clipping at the output signal of the negative feedback amplification unit based on the result of comparison. The controller controls the clipping.
