摘要： PURPOSE: An abrasive using a hydro-cyclone and a classification of a raw material of ceramic are provided which enable to produce the raw material of high-quality ceramic. CONSTITUTION: An abrasive using a hydro-cyclone and a classification of a raw material of ceramic to classify the particle size of an abrasive are described. The characteristics and properties of an abrasive depends on specific hardness and particle size of raw material. The abrasive is selected according to the hardness of an object to be treated, the hardness of the abrasive depends on a sort of the raw material such as SiC, Al2O3, SiO2, and ZrO2 and purity of each raw material and a kind of impurity namely crystal structure. For an example, alpha-alumina having a density of 3.9 as one of representative abrasives is wet-grinded in a ball mill to prepare slurry having a specific gravity of 1.5-1.85. The reduction process is controlled to enhance efficiency in classification. The wet-grinded raw material is diluted in water to give diluted slurry, which is passed through a hydro-cyclone to make an abrasive having a specified particle size of 8-10 micrometer to be desired.
