    • PURPOSE: A side airbag module for vehicles is provided to continuously protect the passenger's hip by preventing gas inside a lower chamber from discharging after the lower chamber is fully opened or from flowing backward to an upper chamber and maintaining a state in which the lower chamber is fully opened. CONSTITUTION: A side airbag module for vehicles comprises a first diffuser tube (110) and a second diffuser tube (120). The second diffuser tube is made of material which can be melted more easily than the first diffuser tube by the gas heat at high temperature generated when an inflator is exploded. The opened other end of the second diffuser tube is closed as a part is melted by the gas heat at the high temperature generated when the inflator is exploded while the gas is filled inside a lower chamber and limits the gas filled inside the lower chamber to flow backward to an upper chamber.

    • 본실시예에따른자동차용사이드에어백모듈은, 에어백쿠션, 상기에어백쿠션에가스를공급하여상기에어백쿠션을전개하는인플레이터, 및상기에어백쿠션에재봉되어상기에어백쿠션의내부공간을상부챔버및 하부챔버로구획하는격막을포함하는자동차용사이드에어백모듈에있어서, 상기상부챔버및 상기하부챔버내에마련되어상기가스를상기상부챔버및 상기하부챔버내부로공급하도록유로를형성하는제1 디퓨저튜브; 및상기하부챔버내에위치하는상기제1 디퓨저튜브의개구된단부에일단부가연결되며, 상기제1 디퓨저튜브를통과한가스가상기하부챔버내로유입되도록유로를형성하는제2 디퓨저튜브를포함하되, 상기제2 디퓨저튜브의개구된타단부는, 상기하부챔버내에가스가일정이상충진된후 상기인플레이터의폭발시형성되는고온의가스열에의해폐쇄가능하며, 상기하부챔버내에충진된가스는상기상부챔버측으로의역류가제한되는것을특징으로한다. 본실시예에의하면, 하부챔버가만개된후 하부챔버내의가스가외부로배출되거나상부챔버측으로역류하는것을방지하여하부챔버의만개된상태를유지함으로써, 탑승자의엉덩이부위를지속적으로보호할수 있게된다.
