    • PURPOSE: A manufacturing method for a polymerization catalyst being suitable for manufacturing an ethylene polymer having a wide molecular weight distribution range by high catalytic activity and good hydrogen response is provided. CONSTITUTION: A polymerization catalyst suitable for the production of an ethylene polymer having a wide molecular weight distribution range by virtue of its high catalytic activity and hydrogen response can be prepared by using a chromium compound, an organoaluminum compound, and a carrier in a process comprising the steps of: (a) bringing the chromium compound into contact with the carrier in the presence or absence of a solvent; (b) adding the organoaluminum compound to the resultant material so as to satisfy the following relationship (1) at 60°C or below in a mixing ratio of the organoaluminum compound to the chromium compound of (0.5:1) to (100:1) in terms of the ratio of aluminum atoms to chromium atoms (AL to Cr molar ratio):log10t the same or less than 0.33 log10C + 0.35 (1) wherein t represents the time (min) necessary for the organoaluminum compound to be added to give an AL to Cr molar ratio of 10:1 and C represents the amount (kg) of the carrier; (c) stirring, after the addition of the organoaluminum compound, at a temperature of 0 to 60°C for 0.5 to 4 hr; and (d) removing the solvent used, the material remaining non-reacted, and reaction by-products at 60°C or below so as to satisfy the following relationship (2):log10T the same or less than 0.23 log10C + 1.10 wherein T represents the time (hr) necessary for the removal and C represents the amount (kg) of the carrier.

CONSTITUTION: Ethylenic polymers for forming films by blowing or extrusion and for blow or extrusion molding, which satisfy the following relationship wherein Mn(V1) is a number-average molecular weight calculated from the terminal vinyl content of a GPC fraction of a number average molecular weight (Mn) of 100,000 as determined by 13C-NMR spectrometry and Mn(V2) is that calculated from the terminal vinyl content of a GPC fraction of a number-average molecular weight (Mn) of 10,000 as determined similarly, and have a melt flow rate (HLMFR) of 0.1 to 70 g/10 min, and which are excellent in moldability and can give molded articles free from surface roughening:1.01 less than log10{Mn(V1)/Mn(V2)} less than 3.0.
