    • An apparatus and a method for reproducing a hologram, and a phase light modulator are provided to match a phase of a diffracted light generated from a hologram recording medium and a phase of a reference light to each other, thereby obtaining a good hologram reproduction characteristic. A light path of a first reference light leads a laser light from a laser light source(11) to apply the first reference light on a hologram recording medium(30). A light path of a diffracted light leads the diffracted light, which is generated from the hologram recording medium by the first reference light, to a CMOS(Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor) sensor(27) having a plurality of pixels. A light path of a second reference light leads the second reference light, which has the same polarization direction as the diffracted light, from the laser light source to the CMOS sensor. A phase modulation device(16) and a biaxial rotation mirror(18) are disposed on the light path of the second reference light. Thus, a phase of the diffracted light and a phase of the second reference light are matched to each other, thereby obtaining a good DC reproducing characteristic.

According to a temperature of a hologram recording medium(48) which is recording, the range of the reference beam area is set up as the predetermined first range. Therefore, a range of an incident angle of the reference beam about the hologram recording medium is set up as the predetermined first range.

    • A method for producing a duplicate hologram recording medium, an apparatus for producing a duplication master, an apparatus for producing a duplicate hologram recording medium, and a duplication master are provided to produce a duplicate hologram recording medium at high speed using conventional inexpensive production equipment. An apparatus for producing a duplication master comprises a beam splitter, a spatial light modulator, a condenser unit, and a hologram-forming-position changing unit. The beam splitter splits a light beam from a laser light source into a coaxial beam and a master-producing reference beam. The spatial light modulator performs spatial light modulation on the coaxial beam to generate a modulated coaxial beam in which a predetermined reference beam and a signal beam corresponding to recording data are arranged coaxially. The condenser unit, which includes an objective lens and a dummy glass(61a), condenses the modulated coaxial beam to a recording layer of the duplication master while correcting an aberration generated when duplicating the duplicate hologram recording medium in advance. The hologram-forming-position changing unit includes a spindle motor(48), and changes a position of the recording layer where a hologram is formed due to interference between the master-producing reference beam and the modulated coaxial beam.
