摘要： PURPOSE: A printing apparatus and a method for controlling the same are provided to prevent the purchase of unnecessary roll paper by enabling the printing of a piece of paper. CONSTITUTION: A printing apparatus includes a roll paper detection unit for detecting whether or not the roll paper exists and prints the roll paper and a piece of paper. The printing apparatus includes a condition establishing part(15) and an off-line determining part(16). The condition establishing part(15) establishes whether or not the absence of the roll paper is employed as an off-line condition of the printing apparatus. The off-line condition is changed according to the contents of the condition establishing part(15) when power is applied or reset. The condition establishing part(15) includes a memory switch allowing the non volatile storage unit to store establishment information.
