    • A soaking liquid for the tissue cultured roots of wild ginseng is provided to inhibit Maillard reaction and the activities of polyphenol oxidase and to prevent the roots of wild ginseng from turning brown, thereby prolonging the storage period of tissue cultured roots of wild ginseng. A soaking liquid for the tissue cultured roots of wild ginseng is composed of 0.1-0.5%(w/w) of grapefruit seed extract, 0.1-2.0%(w/w) of citric acid and 0.1-0.5%(w/w) of vitamin C. The tissue cultured roots of wild ginseng are washed with sterilized water. The tissue cultured roots of wild ginseng are soaked in the soaking liquid at 10°C or less. The grapefruit seed extract weakens the activities of an enzyme relating to cell membranes of microorganisms and inhibits cell respiratory functions in order to prevent the rearing of microorganisms.
