摘要： PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and an active matrix substrate are provided to let pixel electrodes overlap with each wiring, thereby improving an opening rate and minimizing disturbances of the alignment of liquid crystal elements, and to reduce the influence of capacitance between pixel electrodes and wiring on display. CONSTITUTION: Gate wiring, source wiring(23), and switching elements arranged in the neighborhood of the crossing parts of the gate wiring and the source wiring(23) are provided. The switching element has a gate electrode(32) connected with the gate wiring, a source electrode(36a) connected with the source wiring(23), and a drain electrode(36b) connected with the pixel electrode(21) for applying voltage to the liquid crystal layer. An interlayer insulating film is arranged above the switching elements, the gate wiring and the source wiring(23). The pixel electrode(21) is arranged on the interlayer insulating film. A capacity ratio represented by an equation Csd/(Csd+Cls) is under 10%, wherein Csd denotes a capacity value between the pixel electrode(21) and the source wiring while the Cls denotes a capacity value of a liquid crystal value corresponding to each pixel at an intermediate display state.
