    • PURPOSE: A friction material for a vehicle brake pad is provided to prevent environmental contamination while maintaining the conventional brake temperature and abrasion of a brake pad. CONSTITUTION: A friction material for a vehicle brake pad comprises a binder, reinforcing fiber, an abrasive, a filler, and a lubricant. The lubricant comprises ferric sulfide(FeS2) 30~60 weight%, copper sulfide(CuS) 15~40 weight%, molybdenum sulfide(MoS2) 10~30 weight%, and zinc sulfide(SnS2) 5~20 weight%. In another case, the lubricant comprises ferric sulfide(FeS2) 50 weight%, copper sulfide(CuS) 30 weight%, molybdenum sulfide(MoS2) 10 weight%, and zinc sulfide(SnS2) 10 weight%. The lubricant is included 10~30 weight% with respect to the total weight of the friction material.

The frictional material further comprises lubricant of 10~20weight, abrasive of 5~15weight, and carbon composite of 1~10weight. The frictional material further comprises metal alloy of 1~10weight and sintered metal of 5~15weight.
