    • PURPOSE: A method for detaching mobile terminal from a communication system sharing the same root area is provided to prevent the waste of the system resource by accurately managing the information related to the mobile terminal within the ERA(Equivalent Route Area). CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal decides separation from system(400). The mobile terminal transfers the separation request to the service node SGSN (Serving GPRS Support Node)(401). The service node SGSN transfers the context deletion request message to the service node MME/UPE(Mobile Management Entity/User Plane Entity)(402). The service node MME/UPE transfers the context deletion response to the service node SGSN(403). The service node SGSN transfers the separation grant to the mobile terminal(404). The service node SGSN transfers the separation pointer to the HSS(Home network register)(405).

    • A reverse compatibility supporting method of an MBMS(Multimedia Broadcast and Multicast Service) is provided to be capable of mapping relation between an MBMS identifier and an RAB(Radio Access Bearer) identifier, and to enable an SGSN(Service GPRS Supporting Node) to decide on capability of an RNC(Radio Network Controller), so that the MBMS can have a possibility of reverse compatibility while equipments are compatible with various versions. An SGSN previously receives a data transmission notification from a GGSN(Gateway GPRS Supporting Node)(301). If an RNC does not support an MBMS and a UE(User Equipment) is in idle state, the SGSN sends a paging message to the RNC(302). The RNC receives the paging message, and calls the UE through a PCCH(Paging Control Channel)(303). If the UE is in the idle state, the UE initiates an RRC(Radio Resource Control) link setup process while a 'lu' signaling connection is set for the UE(304). The SGSN designates a mapping relation between an MBMS identifier and an RAB identifier for the RAB identifier that does not support the MBMS, and notifies the UE by sending a 'return to a Rel99 mode' message(305).
