    • PURPOSE: A method of manufacturing alignment substrate and a liquid crystal display device with the alignment substrate are provided to form multi domains by an alignment layer method, thereby improving penetration ratio of unit pixel domain. CONSTITUTION: On a substrate, a plurality of unit pixel domains(PA) is defined. Each unit pixel domain is classified into a plurality of matrix shape sub pixel domain. A photoreactive polymer layer is formed on the substrate. A photoalignment is performed along with multiple process directions by light polarized to the photoreactive polymer layer. An alignment layer is formed at each sub pixel domain. On the alignment layer, the alignment direction is respectively decided. In the alignment direction, multiple process directions are vectorially added.

A common electrode display panel includes common electrodes formed at areas corresponding to the sub-pixel electrodes, having aperture parts with vertical width wider than horizontal width. A liquid crystal layer is interposed between the thin film transistor display panel and the common electrode display panel.

    • An LCD and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to realize wide viewing angle and improve the response speed of liquid crystal, by dividing one pixel into a plurality of domains. A liquid crystal layer is disposed between a first insulating substrate and a second insulating substrate. First and second gate lines(121,125) are formed on the first insulating substrate in a horizontal direction. A data line(160) crosses the gate lines to define a pixel region. A pixel electrode(180) is formed in the pixel region, and has a pixel electrode cutting pattern. A direction control electrode line(163) is electrically separated from the pixel electrode. The direction control electrode line overlaps a portion of the pixel electrode cutting pattern to control the liquid crystal layer. A first thin film transistor for pixel electrode is formed at a crossing of the first gate line and the data line, and connected to the pixel electrode. A second thin film transistor for direction control electrode is formed at a crossing of the second gate line and the data line, and connected to the direction control electrode line.

    • PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) having an improved view angle and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to enhance a view angle and a side visibility by forming an organic insulation layer at a predetermined portion of a pixel region. CONSTITUTION: An electric field(F) is formed between a first and a second substrate(110,210) at a state that a voltage is applied to a pixel electrode(190) and a reference electrode(270). Due to a groove(291) of the reference electrode(270) which is formed at a position superposed between a pixel cut pattern(191) of the pixel electrode(190) and an inside black matrix(220b), the electric field forms a fringe field with an inclination, not completely vertical, to the substrates(110,210). Accordingly, liquid crystal particles are rearranged with an inclination. There occurs regions having contrary inclining directions and the optical characteristics in these regions are compensated with each other, thereby obtaining a wide view angle.
