    • A call setup method in an IP network and a terminal for the same are provided to improve call setup time and reduce the load of an outbound proxy server by configuring an address translation table on the basis of associated ID and IP address information when an IP phone performs call setup. If an ID for a called terminal is inputted, a calling terminal checks a DATT(Destination Address Translation Table) while performing call initiation(S10). If an index matched with the inputted ID exists in the DATT(S20), the calling terminal transmits a call initiation message directly to the destination terminal(S30). Then the calling terminal executes an advanced call procedure(S40), and confirms whether a call is established(S50). If a call is established, the calling terminal transmits a NOTIFY message to a call manager(S60).
