    • A relocation determination device of an SRNS(Serving Radio Network Subsystem) of a WCDMA(Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) system and a method thereof are provided to check the point of time when SRNS relocation is performed, if a UE(User Equipment) is located in a border area between an SRNC(Serving Radio Network Controller) and a TRNC(Target Radio Network Controller), thereby solving a waste of resources and system loads caused by ping-pong phenomena caused by movement of the UE. A cell update message is received from a UE(301). A cell where the UE is located is checked to examine whether the UE exists in the cell of a TRNC(303,305). If so, it is examined whether the cell for uploading the cell update message is contained in neighbor cells of an SRNC(307). If not, combined cell/URA(UTRAN Registration Area) update and SRNS relocation is carried out(309).

    • PURPOSE: A method for effectively relocating a serving radio network subsystem in an asynchronous CDMA mobile communication system is provided to save resources of a mobile communication system by guaranteeing optimization of a path in providing a service to a UE(User Equipment). CONSTITUTION: When a UE is located in an area where a cell of a node B under the management of an SRNC(Source Radio Network Controller) currently providing a service to the UE and a cell of a target RNC managing a cell of a Node B into which the UE is to move are overlapped with each other(310), the SRNC receives an additional measurement report with respect to the Node B from the UE(320). The SRNC requests handover from the DRNC according to the movement of the UE(330). The DRNC transfers information of a neighbor cell of the UE to the SRNC(340). The SRNC analyzes the information of the neighbor cell of the UE and determines that the UE has completely moved into the DRNC if there is no cell belonging to the SRNC therein(350). The SRNC performs relocation of a serving RNC providing a service to the UE(360).
