    • PURPOSE: A depth map generating apparatus and a method thereof are provided to completely and automatically process video of various types without user's input. CONSTITUTION: A 3D structure matching unit(120) calculates each matching level between a current 2D image and pre-stored 3D model structures. The 3D structure matching unit confirms the 3D model structure of the highest matching level as a 3D structure of the current 2D image. A depth map generating unit(130) caused by matching generates a depth map with the 3D model structure by a depth map caused by matching corresponding to the current 2D image.

    • Provided are a method and an apparatus for providing augmented reality. The apparatus for providing augmented reality includes: photographing modules which are separated from each other, and photograph an real scenes including an object; a tracking part which tracks the object included in the photographed real scenes, and acquires condition information of the object; an image processing part which calculates condition information corresponding to the photographed real scenes of a virtual image based on the acquired condition information of the object, and synthesizes the virtual image and the photographed real scenes based on the calculated condition information to generate an augmented reality image; and a rendering part which executes a rendering process to display the generated augmented reality image.
