    • The present invention provides a secondary battery which minimizes the transformation of a center pin during a compressing process for reducing the damage on an electrode assembly. The secondary battery by an embodiment of the present invention comprises the following: the electrode assembly for charging and discharging; the center pin located on the center of the electrode assembly; a case for storing the electrode assembly; and a cap assembly combined to an opening of the case to be electrically connected to the electrode assembly. The center pin includes a first pipe body inserted into the center of the electrode assembly, and a second pipe body with the different rigidity with the first pipe body inserted into the first pipe body for forming a buffering space between the first pipe body and the second pipe body.
