    • A method of manufacturing a mold for a light guide plate and a method of manufacturing the light guide plate thereby are provided to form a prism pattern on a light receiving part of the light guide plate by using a lateral mold having a prism pattern forming part. A pattern master manufacturing process is performed to manufacture a pattern master including fine patterns(S210). A dipping process is performed to dip a lateral mold into an electrolyte in order to form light receiving surfaces of the pattern master and a light guide plate(S220). A transferring process is performed to transfer the fine patterns of the pattern master onto the lateral mold by applying a predetermined voltage to the electrolyte and the lateral mold and using metal ions of the electrolyte(S240). The fine patterns of the pattern master have the same shape as that of the prism pattern formed on the light receiving surface of the light guide plate.

    • A backlight unit and an LCD device including the same are provided to enable the inside of extending portions protruded to the outside of an optical sheet to adhere closely to a containing member to limit the position of the optical sheet and secure a gap between the outside of the extending portion and the containing member, thereby preventing the optical sheet from being shriveled by thermal transformation. An inside position limitation portion(245) is formed vertically for the horizontal surface of the containing member to be opposite to the inside(262) of the extending portions and limits the position of the optical sheet. An outside position limitation portion(246) is formed vertically for the horizontal surface of the containing member to be opposite to the outside of the extending portions, and is formed longer than the inside position limitation portion.
