A brightness control panel(210) receives one or more start signals, 3D enable signals, and backlight data signals among a scan start signal, a vertical gap start signal, and a backlight start signal. The brightness control panel outputs a back light control signal. The scan start signal comprises a first pulse which informs the start of every frame. The vertical gap start signal comprises a second pulse which informs the start of the first pulse and vertical gap. A backlight unit(200) is operated based on the back light control signal.
