    • A system and a method for controlling power transferred to a powered device based on channel impediments are provided to enable a PSE to identify power capacity which has to be distributed to each port, thereby distributing only power required to each port to increase the capacity of the PSE effectively. A PD(Powered Device)(140) includes PSE(Power Source Equipment)(120) for transmitting power. The power transmitted to the PD by the PSE is supplied by the application of a voltage crossing the center taps of transformers joined to the TX(Transmitter) pair and RX(Receiver) pair of wires contained into an Ethernet cable. Two TX and RX pairs enable data communication between Ethernet PHY(110,130). The PD includes an 802.3af module(142). The 802.3af module includes an electronic device for allowing the PD to communicate with the PSE based on IEEE(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) 802.3af standards. The PD includes a PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) DC controller(144) for controlling a power FET(Field Effect Transistor)(146). The power FET supplies constant power to a load(150).
