    • Provided is a steam generator wherein total heat transfer efficiency can be improved by limiting fall in the amount of heat exchange on the inlet side of a heat transfer tube while maintaining increase effect of the amount of heat exchange on the outlet side thereof. A steam generator (1) comprises a heat transfer tube group (15) consisting of a plurality of heat transfer tubes (13) secured to a tube plate (11), an annular channel (23) so formed as to cover the periphery of the heat transfer tube group (15) and having an opening (25) communicating with the heat transfer tube group (15) at a lower portion thereof, a water supply block (29) arranged at an upper portion of the annular channel (23) and supplying water to a portion in the heat transfer tubes (13) on the cold side, and a steam-water separator (31) arranged above the heat transfer tube group (15) and separating water, heated by passing through the periphery of the heat transfer tubes (13) from the annular channel (23), into steam and hot water, wherein a porous plate (35) for removing bubbles is provided at an upper portion of the annular channel (23) on the hot side in the heat transfer tubes (13).
