    • PURPOSE: A method for preparing the nitrogen of ultrahigh purity is provided, to reduce the required amount of energy and to obtain the nitrogen in liquid state. CONSTITUTION: The compressed and purified supply air is induced to a pressure column(25), the compressed nitrogen fraction containing no oxygen is generated from the pressure column and induced to a low pressure column(2), and a low pressure nitrogen containing no carbon monoxide as an overhead gas(6) is generated in the low pressure tube(2), and the ultra highly pure nitrogen is prepared by a low temperature distillation of air, wherein the compressed nitrogen fraction containing no oxygen is removed in liquid state from the upper region of the pressure tube(2) or provided from the liquid tank(22) containing the stored nitrogen containing no oxygen, and expands into the low pressure tube whose base is heated to form a rising steam in the low pressure tube, to separate it from carbon monoxide by using the refluxed one of the ultra highly pure nitrogen applied to the upper region of the low pressure tube, to remove from the upper region of the low pressure tube as an overhead gas(6) containing no carbon monoxide, and to liquify it partially. The liquified part expands into the He-Ne-H2 column(4) whose base is heated.
