The microcomputers(20a-20c) have memories(22a-22c) for storing whether the remote controllers(4a-4c) are the on or off state when the error state is generated.

    • PURPOSE: A combustion apparatus is provided to achieve improved safety by preventing starting of ignition when the switch turned-on is not done by a user operation. CONSTITUTION: A combustion apparatus comprises a burner(39); an ignition unit for igniting spark to the burner; a controller(62) for controlling operation of the ignition unit; and an automatic return type switch connected to the controller. The controller judges whether the switch is turned on or off after elapse of a predetermined time since turn-on operation of the switch, and does not operate the ignition unit if the switch is determined as being turned on and operates the ignition unit if the switch is determined as being turned off. The switch turn-on operation done by a user operation takes short time. Therefore, if the switch is judged as being turned on after elapse of a predetermined time, the switch turn-on operation is judged as the operation which is not done by a user.
