    • PURPOSE: An electrowetting display device increases resolution by including a reset circuit to initialize pixels. CONSTITUTION: Each pixel is initialized in response to a corresponding reset gate signal per frame and receives a data voltage in response to a corresponding gate signal after a lapse of a predetermined time. A display capacitor is charged by the applied voltage. A first thin film transistor (TR1) provides the data voltage provided through a corresponding data line in response to the gate signal to the display capacitor. A second thin film transistor (TR2) provides a storage voltage provided through a storage line in response to the reset gate signal to the display capacitor.

    • PURPOSE: An electro-wetting device is provided to improve transmittance and visibility by reducing the width of a shielding member. CONSTITUTION: When voltage is applied to a first electrode (191) and a second electrode (270), a second fluid material (197) is connected to a part of a hydrophobic insulation layer (195). The second fluid material is pushed by a first fluid material (196) in order to be concentrated at a partition (W). Light which passes through a first circuit board (110), the first electrode, and the hydrophobic insulation layer is not able to pass through the first fluid material. The movement or deformation of the first fluid material which is induced by the application of an electric field executes a shutter function.

    • PURPOSE: A pixel structure for electrowetting display device and the manufacturing method thereof are provided to enhance the response speed. CONSTITUTION: A pixel structure for electrowetting display device comprises a first display base board (100), a second upper base board (200) facing the first display base board, and a fluid layer (300). The first display base board includes a first base board (2) and a pixel unit formed on the first base board. The second upper base board includes a second base board (40) and spaces (38) arranged along the edge of a common electrode (46). The first display base board and the second upper base board have a partition wall (36) in between the first and second base boards by a filling having hydrophobicity fluid (40) and hydrophillic fluid (42).
