    • PURPOSE: A system and a method for using carbon dioxide separated from the seawater in the recalcification of treated water are provided to separate carbon dioxide gas from seawater in a desalinating process through a gas transferring membrane. CONSTITUTION: A reverse osmosis filter(22) is prepared. A gas transferring membrane with first and second reverse flow channels(34, 36) is prepared. Seawater is supplied to a first reverse flow channel, and reverse osmosis penetrant is supplied to the second reverse flow channel. Sulfuric acid is applied to the upstream end part of the first reverse flow channel. Sulfuric acid is reacted with calcium bicarbonate in the seawater to generate carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide passes through the gas transferring membrane to separate from the first reverse flow channel. Calcium hydroxide is applied to the downstream end part(48) of the second reverse flow channel. Separated carbon dioxide is reacted with calcium hydroxide to generate calcium bicarbonate. The calcium bicarbonate is added to the reverse osmosis penetrant to apply hardness and alkaline characteristic to water.
