    • PURPOSE: A method of making an aluminum alloy plate for bearing is provided in which even when an aluminum alloy having a low rolling workability is used for the bearing alloy layer, the bonding layer can be cladded onto the bearing alloy layer at a high reduction ratio while occurrence of crack is prevented. CONSTITUTION: In a method of making an aluminum alloy plate for bearing which is made by cladding a bonding layer comprising a pure aluminum or an aluminum alloy excluding Sn onto a bearing alloy layer comprising an aluminum alloy containing Sn, the method comprises the steps of fitting a concave portion of a first roll in a convex portion of a second roll, the first roll having both axial ends with large diameter portions (23b) respectively, the second roll having both axial ends with small diameter portions (24b) respectively; and passing superposed plates formed into the bearing alloy layer and the bonding layer respectively through a roll gap defined between the concave and convex portions and closed by the large diameter portions of the first roll so that the plates are pressurized at a reduction ratio of not less than 50% while both widthwise ends of each plate is restricted by the large diameter portions of the first roll respectively such that the bonding layer is cladded onto the bearing alloy layer.

    • PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for continuous casting of aluminum bearing alloy are provided in which coarsening and segregation of the crystals can be prevented when the aluminum bearing alloy is continuously cast into the shape of a plate. CONSTITUTION: In a method of continuous casting of a molten aluminum bearing alloy in which a casting space(C) is defined between substantially parallel opposed portions of a pair of travelling endless belts(8,9) and the molten aluminum bearing alloy is supplied into the casting space(C) to be continuously cast into the shape of a plate, the method is characterized in that a cooling rate ΔT during solidification of the aluminum bearing alloy is controlled so that the cooling rate ΔT ranges between 3 and 6 deg.C/sec. where ΔT=(T-500)/t, T is a temperature when the casting of the aluminum bearing alloy starts, and t is a time in sec. between start of casting and the cooling time when the temperature of the aluminum bearing alloy decreases to 500 deg.C. The apparatus for continuously casting a molten aluminum bearing alloy into the shape of a plate comprises belt casting means including a pair of travelling endless belts(8,9) and a casting space(C) defined between substantially parallel opposed portions of a pair of travelling endless belts(8,9) and having two ends; molten metal supplying means for supplying molten aluminum bearing alloy into the casting space(C) from one end side of the casting space(C); cooling means for cooling, through a medium of the endless belts(8,9), the molten aluminum bearing alloy supplied into the casting space(C); and water-spraying means(22,23) for spraying water onto a cast plate from both sides thereof to cool the same, the cast plate being continuously cast in the casting space(C) and fed out of the other end side of the casting space(C) by the travelling of the belts(8,9).
