    • A method for detecting watermark by using a sub-block and an apparatus thereof are provided to enhance performance by selecting sub-blocks with higher WNR(Watermark to Noise Ratio) until estimated distribution of correlation rate is minimized and performing correlated detection by using only the selected sub-blocks. A method for detecting watermark includes the following several steps. A block of watermark and stego signals is divided into smaller sub-blocks(S10). Sub-WNR is calculated for each sub-block of the watermark and the stego signals(S12). Each calculated sub-WNR is arranged by a descending order(S14). A distribution value of a watermark detector is estimated while a sub-block is being added by each arrangement order(S16). Correlated detection is performed through only the sub-blocks in case that the distribution value is the smallest(S18). If the correlated detection of each sub-block is finished, the watermark gets detected(S20).

    • PURPOSE: A method and a system for detecting a digital watermark with improved the ability of resisting to a sensitivity attack are provided to improve the reliability of detecting the digital watermark and improve the safety to the sensitivity attack. CONSTITUTION: A detection key generating element(10) provides a random detection key to be used whenever every signal is detected. The signals are inputted to a detector from a plurality of detection keys obtained by randomly converting an insertion key. A watermark detecting element(20) obtains a correlation between the provided detection key and the corresponding input signal for judging the existence of a digital watermark.
