    • PURPOSE: A method for purifying wastewater containing heavy metal-organic material complex using hexavalent iron is provided to efficiently purify the wastewater based on a simplified process using a solution containing hexavalent iron salt. CONSTITUTION: A method for purifying wastewater containing heavy metal-organic material complex includes the following: A solution containing hexavalent iron salt is prepared. The solution is mixed with wastewater containing the heavy metal-organic material complex. The complex is decomposed, and heavy metals are precipitated. The precipitated heavy metals are separated and eliminated. The pH value of the solution containing the hexavalent iron salt is maintained in a range between 9 and 10. The hexavalent iron salt is K_2FeO_4 or Na_2FeO_4. The heavy metal-organic material complex is selected from a group including Cu(II)-EDTA, Cu(II)-NTA, Cu(II)-EDDA, and Cu(II)-IDA.
