    • PURPOSE: A novel acetylenic acid derivative isolated from Cantharellus cibarius is provided to minimize side effects and to prevent and treat diabetes or inflammatory diseases as a PPAR-gamma agonist. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating diabetes contains a Cantharellus cibarius extract as an active ingredient. A method for preparing the derivative comprises: a step of extracting Cantharellus cibarius with methanol; a step of fractioning the extract with ethyl acetate and hexane; a step of preparing a fraction using a mixture solvent of chloroform and methanol(CHCl_3-MeOH) and by concentration gradient silica gel chromatography; a step of preparing a fraction from the fraction using acetonitrile and water(MeCN-H_20) and a reverse phase column; and a step of performing chromatography of the fraction using a mixture of chloroform and acetone(CHCl_3-acetone).
