    • PURPOSE: A water gas converting chrome-free-based catalyst containing alkali metals is provided to efficiently eliminate carbon monoxide and to suppress the generation of methane in a water gas converting reaction by being composed of iron, nickel, and alkali metals. CONSTITUTION: A water gas converting chrome-free-based catalyst is a chrome-free complex catalyst which is obtained by carrying alkali metals in a catalyst composed of iron and nickel. The contents of iron and nickel are respectively between 55 and 85 weight% and between 15 and 45 weight% in the catalyst. The contents of iron, nickel, and the alkali metals are respectively between 60 and 80 weigh%, between 15 and 35 weight%, and between 1 and 10 weight%. The alkali metals are potassium or cesium. The catalyst eliminates carbon monoxide and suppresses the generation of methane after the vapor modification of liquefied natural gas.
