In the dielectric filter, the input/output electrode (5a, 5b) is formed from a side face, which is an end face of the dielectric block (1) in a parallel direction of the internal-conductor-formed holes (2a, ..., 2d), to a bottom face, which is a mounting face of the dielectric block (1) facing a mounting substrate, a capacitance is generated between the internal conductor of a first internal-conductor-formed hole (2a, 2d) closest to the end face and the internal conductor of a second internal-conductor-formed hole (2b, 2c) in the neighborhood of the first internal-conductor-formed hole (2a, 2d), and the cross section of at least the first internal-conductor-formed hole (2a, 2d) is a noncircular shape extending in a direction parallel to the side face.

    • PURPOSE: A dielectric duplexer and a communication apparatus are provided to facilitate impedance matching between the duplexer and each circuit element connected thereto without the use of an additional circuit element. CONSTITUTION: A dielectric duplexer comprises a dielectric block(1) having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface, a plurality of conductive through holes(21-26) provided in the dielectric block, each conductive through hole extending from the first surface of the dielectric block to the opposite second surface, an antenna excitation hole provided in the dielectric block, the antenna excitation hole extending from the first surface of the dielectric block to the opposite second surface, an outer conductor provided on an outer surface of the dielectric block, an input terminal(62) provided on the outer surface of the dielectric block and separated from the outer conductor, an output terminal(61) provided on the outer surface of the dielectric block and separated from the outer conductor, and an antenna terminal provided on the outer surface of the dielectric block, separated from the outer conductor and electrically coupled with the antenna excitation hole, wherein an absolute value of a reflection coefficient of at least one of the input terminal, the output terminal, and the antenna terminal is in the range of about 0.33 to about 1.00 in a passband, with a reference impedance of 50Ω.
