    • PURPOSE: To provide a heat assisted magnetic recording method and heat assisted magnetic recorder which can most adequately adjust the timing of heating of a medium and magnetic recording, have a small size, lightweightness and high reliability and can exceedingly improve recording density in heat assisted magnetic recording for recording magnetic information by heating the medium to side the temp. by a heat source, such as a light beam. CONSTITUTION: This heat assisted magnetic recording method makes the magnetic information recordable by heating the recording medium to rise the temp. and to lower the coercive force of the recording part and impressing the recording magnetic field from recording magnetic poles to the recording part having the lowered coercive force. The magnetization fixing point where the coercive force of the recording part equals to the magnitude of the recording magnetic field is disposed nearer a leading side than the trailing edge of the recording magnetic pole.

In the above structure, the recording magnetic-pole leading portion(15), recording magnetic-pole trailing portion(16) and protective layer(50) are not always necessary.
