    • A backlight device and a liquid crystal display apparatus are provided to suppress color spots on a light guide plate. A backlight device includes a plurality of packages(32) and a light guide plate. The light guide plate has an incident surface(28) and a radiation surface. Light irradiated from the packages is incident to the incident surface. The radiation surface irradiates the incident light to the outside. Each of the packages includes a housing for a package and a plurality of light sources(34,35,36). The housing includes a barrel shaping portion having a longitudinal wall, a lower wall portion installed in an end of the barrel shaping portion, and a passing portion. The plurality of light sources is disposed in the lower wall portion in the housing, and emits light.

An array type light receiving element comprises a first light collecting device(10), a second light collecting device(20), and a light receiving part. The first light collecting device has a spherical form. The second light collecting device has a high-refractive-index part and a low-refractive-index part. The high refractivity part has one of a cylindrical shape or a polygonal column shape.

A light control pattern region (32) reflecting the light introduced from the light incident surface and guiding the light to the light emitting surface is formed in the nearly entire area of the reflective surface (3b) except the light scattering pattern region. In addition, no pattern forming region (33) is formed in the boundary region between the light scattering pattern region (31) and the light control pattern region (32) on the reflective surface (3b).
