    • A device for optically reading information is provided to read easily and optically information stored in a graphic symbol irrespective of surface reflection and size of each unit section of the information included in the graphic symbol. A first image pickup(23A) includes a first optical sensor and picks up a first optical image of the graphic symbol based on light detected by the first optical sensor. A second image pickup(23B) includes a second optical sensor and picks up a second optical image of the graphic symbol based on the light detected by the second optical sensor. A correction unit corrects a brightness level of the section of the first or second optical image based on the brightness level of the section of another optical image. The correction unit includes a first/second converter(33A,33B) converting the brightness level of each section of the first/second optical image into a digital value, and a replacing unit replacing the digital value of the section of the first or second optical image with the digital value of the section of another optical image.
