An apparatus for converting and relaying a radio frequency receives a signal from a base station(S400). The apparatus detects a frequency band which is not currently used among frequency bands allocated to the base station. The apparatus converts a frequency of the signal into the sensed frequency band(S404). The apparatus transmits the signal to an MS(Mobile Station) through the converted frequency(S408).

An apparatus for expanding forward cell coverage of a mobile communication base station comprises a channel card(200), a high power linear amplifier(210a,210b), an LNA(Low Noise Amplifier)(220a,220b), a BPF(Band-Pass Filter)(240), a receiving-antenna(250), a service antenna(260), a coupler(270), a time delay unit(280) and a duplexer(230,290). In case of a forward direction, a transmission signal is obtained from a signal of an existing transmission path outputted from the channel card while minimizing the loss of an existing path by using the coupler. The time delay unit, the high power linear amplifier and the duplexer are added to add an additional transmission path.
