    • PURPOSE: A DVB system using DFT to estimate a channel, and a method thereof are provided to increase estimation accuracy of the edge of the estimated channel. CONSTITUTION: A method of using DFT to estimate a channel for a DVB system comprises the following steps: IDFT calculating channel information existing in three inter-carrier spacing using a IDFT(inverse discrete fourier transform) operation unit(306) to induce a symbol axis interpolation from a received DVB(digital video broadcasting) signal; producing a window(310) for determining a channel impulse response from the output of the IDFT operation unit using a channel impulse response estimation block(308); DFT calculating the output of the IDFT operation unit inside the window using a DFT operation unit(312); and a first multiplier(314) tripling the output of the DFT operation unit to fix the whole energy ratio.

In the data combination process, the device maximizes the SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio) after combination by using a weight value.
