    • An electroless copper plating method for an activated carbon fiber is provided to solve an inhabitation problem of microorganisms by electroless copper plating of an activated carbon fiber, and a manufacturing method of an electroless copper plated activated carbon fiber with excellent reduction characteristics of nitrogen monoxide is provided. An electroless copper plating method for an activated carbon fiber comprises: a process of providing an activated carbon fiber; a degreasing process(S120) of removing oil from the activated carbon fiber; an etching process(S130) of improving anchoring effect and wettability; a catalyzing process(S140) of for supporting palladium as an active material for growing copper on a surface of the activated carbon fiber; a washing process(S150) of washing the palladium supported on the activated carbon fiber using water; an acceleration process(S160) of removing a tin(Sn) layer used in supporting of palladium in the catalyzing process; and an electroless copper plating process(S170) of performing electroless copper plating of the activated carbon fiber that has passed through the acceleration process.

    • An electroless copper-plated rayon-based activated carbon fiber and a method for producing the same are provided to prevent microorganisms from growing in the activated carbon fiber, by electroless-plating the rayon-based activated carbon fiber with copper as an antibiotic metal. A degreasing process is performed to remove oil from a rayon-based activated carbon fiber(S120). An etching process is performed to improve the hook effect and the wettability of the rayon-based activated carbon fiber(S130). A catalyzing process is performed to impregnate palladium, functioning as an activating agent for growing copper, with a surface of the rayon-based activated carbon fiber(S140). A wash process is performed by using water(S150). An acceleration process is performed to remove a tin layer used during the catalyzing process(S160). An electroless copper plating process is performed to perform an electroless copper plating work on the rayon-based activated carbon fiber passed by the acceleration process(S170).

    • PURPOSE: Provided are a method for preparing filter filler by using an activated carbon fiber and a filter filler prepared thereby, which has good adsorbing property and air permeability, is able to be recycled and provides almost no difference between external pressure and internal pressure when being filled in a canister. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of (a) smashing an activated carbon fiber into a fiber having a length of 5-10 millimeters; (b) pulverizing the fiber of the step (a) into a fiber having a length of 10-100 micrometers; (c) after drying the fiber of the step (b), treating it with an acid or a base and then drying; (d) putting the step (c), a metal coating solution and a binding agent in an impregnating device and stirring at a temperature of 80-150 deg.C for 1-3 hours with 1-10 rpm to impregnate the metal; and (e) putting the step (d) in a spherical particle preparing device and stirring at a temperature of 200-600 deg.C for 3-5 hours with 1-20 rpm.

    • PURPOSE: A mass-producing method of activated carbon fiber having high carbon content, developed fine pores, excellent air permeability, adhesiveness, large specific surface area, high purity and excellent plasticity is characterized by using phenol resin type fiber. The activated carbon fiber is useful for metallic coating. CONSTITUTION: Activated carbon fiber is obtained by the steps of: putting phenol resin type fiber into a stabilizing furnace; maintaining temperature of the stabilizing furnace at 300-500deg.C, and injecting air to stabilize the fiber for 1 hour; passing the fiber through a cooler having 30-40deg.C of water temperature to get the stabilized fiber; putting the fiber into an oxidizing furnace; maintaining temperature of the oxidizing furnace at 600-800deg.C, and injecting nitrogen gas to carbonize the fiber for 1 hour; passing the fiber through a cooler having 30-40deg.C of water temperature to get the carbonized fiber; putting the fiber into an activating furnace; maintaining temperature of the activating furnace at 900-1000deg.C, and injecting vapor and the nitrogen gas to activate the fiber for 1 hour; passing the fiber through a cooler having under 20deg.C of water temperature; and then drying the fiber.

    • An electroless copper-plated pitch-based activated carbon fiber and a method for producing the same are provided to improve the surface characteristic of the activated carbon fiber and enhance the performance of reducing nitrogen monoxide in an anaerobic condition, by electroless-plating the pitch-based activated carbon fiber with copper. An oil fraction is removed from a pitch-based activated carbon fiber(S120). An etching process is performed on the pitch-based activated carbon fiber to improve the hook effect and the wettability of the pitch-based activated carbon fiber(S130). An activating agent for growing copper such as palladium is impregnated with a surface of the pitch-based activated carbon fiber through a catalyzing process(S140). A washing process is performed by using water(S150). A tin layer, which is used during the catalyzing process, is removed from the pitch-based activated carbon fiber through an acceleration process(S160). The pitch-based activated carbon fiber passed by the acceleration process is electroless-plated with copper(S170).
