摘要： PURPOSE: A method for preparing hemicellulose from rice bran generated during a rice polishing process with high yield is provided to make a good recycling of rice bran as a food supplement and food additives. By the method, dietary fibers including hemicellulose can be provided in economic way, thereby helping to give economic benefits to agricultural field. CONSTITUTION: The method for preparing hemicellulose from rice bran comprises: (a) washing rice bran to remove proteins and carbohydrates therefrom; (b) adding an alkali solution to the washed rice bran and then heating it for extraction; (c) precipitating hemicellulose by treating the extract from (b) with acid; (d) decolorizing the resulted hemicellulose precipitates; and (e) obtaining water soluble and water insoluble hemicellulose selectively from the decolorized hemicellulose fraction.
