    • PURPOSE: A power plant is provided to collect carbon dioxide from exhaust gas derived from the combustion of carbon-based fuel and to reduce energy required for a plant for collecting carbon dioxide. CONSTITUTION: A power plant includes a pressurized fluidized bed combustion chamber(2), heat pipes(8, 8') for cooling combustion gas, a direct contact cooler(15), and a washing exhaust pipe(18). Exhaust gas is discharged through the washing exhaust pipe from the direct contact cooler. The discharged exhaust gas is introduced into a carbon dioxide absorber(19). A rarefied exhaust pipe(20) is in connection with the top part of the absorber. Rarefied exhaust gas is discharged through the rarefied exhaust pipe from the absorber. A rich absorbent pipe(30) is in connection with the bottom part of the absorber. Rich absorbent is discharged through the rich absorbent pipe. The rich absorbent is introduced into a stripping column(32) for regenerating absorbent. Carbon dioxide stream is generated. A water circulating pipe(16) is in connection with the bottom part of the direct contact cooler, and used coolant is discharged through the water circulating pipe. The water circulating pipe is in connection with the top part of the direct contact cooler, coolant is re-introduced into the top part of the direct contact cooler. The coolant is cooled by a heat exchanger(17) in connection with water re-circulating pipes(70, 70').
