    • PURPOSE: A muffler for a ship engine is provided to improve engine output, and control the discharge speed of exhaust gas while the exhaust gas passes through vortex blade pieces. CONSTITUTION: A muffler(10) for a ship engine comprises vortex blade pieces(11), a cylindrical liner(12), a cylindrical exhaust pipe(13), a cylindrical casing, and a sound absorbing material. The vortex blade pieces comprise triangle-shaped vertical pieces(11a) and triangle horizontal pieces(11b). The triangle-shaped vertical pieces are formed at the front, and the triangle horizontal pieces are fixed to both sides of the vertical piece. The cylindrical liner covers the outside of the vortex blade piece, and first through holes(12a) are spirally bored. The cylindrical exhaust pipe penetrates the cylindrical casing, and is fixed. Second through holes(13a) are formed on both ends of the cylindrical exhaust pipe. The sound absorbing material is filled in a space between the cylindrical exhaust pipe and the cylindrical casing. A flange(13) is formed on one side of the cylindrical exhaust pipe, and connected to the exhaust pipe of the engine. An exhaust port(17) is connected to the other end of the cylindrical exhaust pipe.

The spiral induction piece is inserted into the casing.
