    • The present invention relates to a method for polishing a surface of a metal bar. The method for polishing a surface of a metal bar in order to polish a surface of a hexahedron processed object includes polishing top and bottom surfaces of a processed object gripped by a gripper (113) by passing the processed object between top and bottom polishing pad parts (114, 115) vertically facing each other; plating front and rear surfaces of the processed object with the plated top and bottom surfaces by passing the processed object between front and rear surface polishing pads (123, 124) facing each other in forward and backward direction while being gripped by front and rear surface grippers (122); and plating both surfaces of the processed object with the plated front and rear surface by passing the processed object between left and right surface polishing pads (133, 134) facing each other while being gripped by a lateral side gripper (132). The present invention may reduce a working time to improve efficiency and productivity of a working by automatically performing a polishing process to polish a surface of a hexahedron processed object including metal such as a silver bar.

    • The present invention relates to an apparatus for polishing a surface of a metal ingot, which polishes a surface of a hexahedral workpiece. The apparatus (100) for polishing a surface of a metal ingot includes: an upper and lower surface polishing unit (110) to polish upper and lower surfaces of a workpiece; a front and rear surface polishing unit (120) installed vertical to the upper and lower surface polishing unit (110) to polish a front and a rear of the workpiece; and a side surface polishing unit (130) installed vertical to the front and rear surface polishing unit (120) to polish a side surface of the workpiece, wherein each of the upper and lower surface polishing unit (110), the front and rear surface polishing unit (120) and the side surface polishing unit (130) includes a gripper to grip the metal ingot and a polishing pad to polish the metal ingot. The apparatus for polishing a surface of a metal ingot of the present invention automatizes the polishing process for polishing the surface of the hexahedron workpiece constituted by a metal such as a silver ingot thus reducing the work time such that the efficiency and the productivity of the work are substantially improved.
