    • PURPOSE: A protection element is provided to improve reliability by miniaturizing and thinning, with a fusible alloy fuse surely operated in response to the heating of a resistance heating element. CONSTITUTION: A protection element includes a ceramic chip body(12), a fusible alloy fuse element disposed on the surface thereof, a resistance heating element disposed in a through-hole, and leading-out leads(15-17) disposed on the back thereof. Since the heating element comprises a resistor having a predetermined resistance value, and is embedded and filled in the through-hole, heating of the resistor accurately and speedily operates the fusible alloy fuse element through the ceramic chip body having good heat conductivity.

    • A thermal pellet type thermal fuse and a method of producing a thermal pellet are provided to operate at a different temperature by adjusting a thermal deformation temperature physically and chemically. A thermal pellet type thermal fuse includes an enclosure(1), a first lead member(2), a second lead member(10), a movable conduction member(7), and springs(6,8). The enclosure(1) receives a thermal pellet(3). The first lead member(2) includes a first electrode attached to one opening of the enclosure(1). The second lead member(10) includes a second electrode attached to the other opening of the enclosure(1). The movable conduction member(7) is received in the enclosure(1) and stays in the thermal pellet(3). The springs(6,8) provide a pressurizing force to the movable conduction member(7). The thermal pellet(3) is made of thermoplastic resin.

    • A thermosensitive pellet type thermal fuse is provided to increase a switching response speed by forming or mixing a multi layer having different resin materials. A metal outer circumference unit(12) receives a thermosensitive pellet(10) of a thermoplastic resin. A first lead unit(14) is fixed on an end of the metal outer circumference unit(12). A first electrode is formed on a front end of the first lead unit(14). A second lead unit(16) is formed on the other front end of the metal outer circumference unit(12). A second electrode is formed on an inner wall of the metal outer circumference unit(12). Spring bodies(24,26) press the thermosensitive pellet(10) in the metal outer circumference unit(12). A switching unit has a movable conductor(20). A thermal fuse switches an electric circuit between the first electrode and the second electrode by a melting of the thermosensitive pellet(10) at an operational temperature.
