摘要： A surface treating apparatus for a bowling ball is provided to automatically perform surface treatment on the overall surface of the bowling ball without uneven wear by cleaning, abrading, polishing and regenerating. A surface treating apparatus for a bowling ball(B) comprises a housing(10), a first rotary disk(20), a plurality of second rotary disks(22-a,22-c), an up/down rotary arm(50), a driving unit, and an up/down rotary arm actuator. The first rotary disk is mounted in the housing rotatably about the vertical axis of the housing, wherein the second rotary disks smaller than the first rotary disk are arranged annularly at regular intervals at the upper periphery of the first rotary disk to support the lower part of the bowling ball. The up/down rotary arm extended above the second rotary disk comprises a retainer hole accommodating the bowling ball enabling its rolling movement about a horizontal axis on the upper surface of the second rotary disk, wherein the lower side of the hole is smaller than the size of the bowling ball, so that the ball is lifted and separated from the second rotary disk, a retainer(59) mounted on the second rotary disk rotatably about the verticals axis to accommodate and lift the ball. The driving unit locates and retains an abrasive element(31) making friction with the surface of the ball while the bowling ball is rolling on the second rotary disk for polishing and grinding the surface, and one of the second rotary disks under the retainer hole randomly. The up/down rotary arm actuator intermittently repeats rolling of the driving unit and the bowling ball by allowing them to make contact with the upper surface of the second rotary disk, and separating of the driving unit and the bowling ball from the second rotary disk. At the same time, the up/down rotary arm actuator allows the up/down rotary arm to move up and down, so that the bowling ball can make rolling movement at different angles every up/down movement of the retainer hole above the second rotary disk.
